College Fantasy Football: Waiver Wire Week 3

If you want to have long-term success in fantasy football, you need to work the wire. Here’s a look at the top waiver wire adds of the week …

Quarterback

Tyler Huntley, Utah —

% Owned: 32%

Tyler Huntley has a surprisingly low ownership percentage for a guy averaging 32.67 fantasy points per game. Huntley is the seventh-ranked quarterback in standard formats, and even though the competition hasn’t been the stiffest, he’s looked really good. Huntley is a safe option for people in need for a QB2, and he is in no danger of being unseated as the starter for the Utes.

Jacob Park, Iowa State —

% Owned: 10%

[the_ad_group id=”2221″]At this point, quarterbacks are probably hard to come by (barring injury, of course). Iowa State seems to be producing well offensively behind David Montgomery and Jacob Park. Park has 300+ yards in the past two contests and has scored two or more touchdowns in all three games. Park is on bye this week, but a Week 5 matchup against a mediocre Texas defense should prove favorable for Park.

Running Back

Tavien Feaster, Clemson —

% Owned: 12%

I know he isn’t No. 1 on the Tigers depth chart yet, but be patient. Feaster has been creeping his way up the depth chart all season, and a big showing against Boston College following a 98-yard performance against Louisville could plunge him to the spotlight. CJ Fuller owners need to snatch him up now so they don’t have to regret missing out later.

Shamari Brooks, Tulsa —

% Owned: 1%

No big deal, Shamari Brooks ran for 141 yards and three touchdowns this past weekend. Although he may not be the guy for Tulsa too long, with Corey Taylor coming back in a few weeks, he’s too good to pass up on. he may not hold up for long, but for those who need a ringer for the next few weeks, Brooks is your guy.

Shaun Wilson, Duke —

% Owned: 1%

Duke’s offense has looked really good this season, and Shaun Wilson is a key component. Wilson has topped 100 yards in only one contest, but he has found the end zone in every game this season. If Wilson can keep this momentum up, he can be a solid contributor to anyone’s fantasy team.

Wide Receiver

Collin Johnson, Texas —

% Owned: 15%

Collin Johnson is the guy in this Longhorns offense regardless of who the quarterback is. Johnson has topped 100 yards twice this season, including 14 receptions split between both close contests against Maryland and USC. Johnson is a free agent with WR1 upside against the weak defenses of the Big 12.

DaMarkus Lodge, Ole Miss —

% Owned: 24%

DaMarkus Lodge’s stock is soaring with the unknown nature of AJ Brown’s injury. With 100+ yards and a touchdown in each of the last two games, Lodge is the true heir to the No. 1 spot on the Rebels offense. And with Shea Patterson at quarterback, he is destined for big things in Brown’s absence.
