NFL Team Needs: NFC North

You could ask fans of each NFC North team who will make it to the playoffs and get four different answers. With each team's free agency moves, everyone believes this is their year. Let's look at the bombshell moves for each team that have changed the fantasy landscape of this division: Chicago - Signed Allen Robinson. Detroit - Released Eric Ebron. Signed LeGarrette Blount. Green Bay - Cut Jordy Nelson. Signed Jimmy Graham. Minnesota - Signed Kirk Cousins. No other offseason storyline received as much…

Fantasy Football: Week 10 Running Back Matchup Report

Todd Gurley’s sixth top-6 weekly finish has propelled him into the overall RB1 spot as we eclipse the halfway point in the season. He has proven that his 2016 campaign was the outlier in his brief career. The Saints’ Alvin Kamara led all fantasy running backs in Week 9 with 25.20 fantasy points. Kamara and teammate Mark Ingram are both top-3 fantasy running backs over the past four weeks, despite a combined four lost fumbles. Their recent dominance coincides with the trade of Adrian Peterson to Arizona. Peterson has been no…

Fantasy Football: Week 2 Running Back Matchup Report

Last week I came right out of the gate in midseason form when I suggested fantasy owners should sit Kareem Hunt based on a difficult matchup. I guess the good news is there’s only one way to go from here. Aside from Hunt having one of the best games we’ve ever seen from a running back in fantasy, there were several other notable takeaways from Week 1. David Johnson, fantasy’s consensus No. 1 pick, is out 2-3 months as he will be having surgery to repair a dislocated wrist. His absence and the emergence of Tarik Cohen and…

Fantasy Football: Undervalued Running Backs

Running backs are the most volatile fantasy commodity there is. Consider that Todd Gurley, who was the No. 1 overall pick last season, finished 19th in total fantasy points among running backs. Despite his wildly disappointing season, Gurley actually finished ahead of three other running backs drafted in the top-eight in 2016. What made Gurley’s situation unique was he played in all 16 games in 2016, whereas the other three (Adrian Peterson, Eddie Lacy, and Jamaal Charles) combined for just 11. Therein lies the point. The…

The Monday Morning Sleeper – Ameer Abdullah

Welcome to another edition of the Monday Morning Sleeper. Last week I profiled Jared Goff, a quarterback with something to prove, who is primed to lead his team with the help of some new weapons. UPDATE ALERT: I previously profiled a running back for the Philadelphia Eagles named Wendell Smallwood. Unfortunately for Smallwood, LaGarrette Blount has officially signed with the Eagles, and that directly affects Smallwood's sleeper status. Blount led the New England Patriots' backfield last season as they marched through the…
