NBA Eastern Conference Preview

Less than two weeks. That’s all we have left until we have regular season basketball. Finally. This week I’ll take a look at the Eastern Conference, split into tiers and next week it will be the Western Conference’s turn. First up, a very obvious top two. Tier One 1. Cleveland Cavaliers 2. Boston Celtics This is the championship contender tier. Realistically, you could put the Cavaliers in this tier alone, but I’ll give Boston the benefit of the doubt. Completely flipping their roster could give them a shot at the…

Carmelo Anthony Trade Breakdown

After months of speculation, rumors, and waiting, the New York Knicks finally dealt All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony on Saturday to the Oklahoma City Thunder. It’s been obvious they’ve been trying to deal Anthony for a while but hadn’t had much luck. In return, they received Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott, and a 2018 second round draft pick. The contracts of Solomon Hill, Omer Asik, and E’Twaun Moore have made it nearly impossible to improve upon their big two of Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins. The Pelicans made the only move they could at the start of free agency when they re-signed Jrue Holiday to a five-year, $126 million deal. With that decision, it was going to be tough to improve the team through free agency, and the team didn’t have the…

Weekly NBA Roundup: The Knicks are still the Knicks

This week marks the second week of free agency and the start of the Las Vegas Summer League. This week, we continue our weekly roundup of the happenings around the NBA, with our winners and losers. Specifically this week, we take a look at teams and players that have taken advantage of the second week of free agency and the Las Vegas Summer League. Winners Philadelphia 76ers Rarely can a team “win” Summer League, but that happened this week when the Philadelphia 76ers came out feeling like enormous winners. First, the…
