The Chicago White Sox may not be entertaining postseason aspirations, but they are doing their best to damage those of the Cleveland Indians.

The White Sox have won eight of 14 meetings in the season series against their American League Central rival heading into the third contest of their four-game series on Wednesday night in Cleveland.

Rookie Eloy Jimenez belted a solo shot with two outs in the eighth inning to cap his fourth career multi-homer performance as Chicago snapped a season high-tying seven-game losing streak with a 6-5 win on Tuesday.

"I don't want to lie to you," Jimenez said, per the Chicago Sun-Times. "I first thought it was maybe out on the warning track. But when I see (Cleveland right fielder Yasiel) Puig keep running, I was like, 'Oh, my God.' When I see it's gone, that was amazing for me."

Jimenez has five multi-hit efforts in his last six games, batting .462 (12-for-26) with five RBIs over that stretch.

The 22-year-old Jimenez's blast came on the heels of James McCann's three-run homer that tied the game at 5.

Cleveland right-hander Shane Bieber (12-7, 3.27 ERA) will be tasked with keeping Jimenez and McCann in check he when gets the nod on Wednesday.

Bieber fell to 0-3 in a four-start stretch despite surrendering three runs on six hits with nine strikeouts and no walks across 6 1/3 innings in a 4-0 loss at Tampa Bay on Friday.

The 24-year-old, who is 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in four career starts against Chicago, is 0-1 with a 5.68 ERA in two starts versus the White Sox this season.

Chicago right-handed starter Ivan Nova (9-11, 4.48) has lost two straight games after going 5-0 in a six-start stretch.

Nova owns a 3-2 mark with a 3.29 ERA in six career encounters with Cleveland. The 32-year-old is 1-1 with a 2.14 ERA in three starts against the Indians this season.

He might want to keep a keen eye on Roberto Perez, who highlighted his career high-tying four-RBI performance with a three-run homer in the seventh inning that gave Cleveland a 5-2 lead Tuesday. Perez has a career-best 22 homers, with 10 coming in the seventh inning or later this season.

"That was what we thought was hopefully a game-winning hit. It's exciting," Indians manager Terry Francona told reporters. "We've got to nail down games like that."

Franmil Reyes, who is 14-for-37 with four homers, nine runs scored and 13 RBIs in his last 11 games, nearly tied the contest in ninth -- but his towering fly ball was caught on the warning track.

"It was right on the barrel of the bat," Reyes said. "I just missed it and it was too high. I was really prepared for that at-bat, but couldn't get it. We have to be ready (to rebound) and keep it going."

Cleveland's 6-8 mark against Chicago represents its lone losing record against a division opponent this season.
