De La Rosa's double-double paces Kent State in 80-67 win

KENT, Ohio (AP) Adonis De La Rosa posted his second straight double-double and Jaylin Walker scored 19 points in Kent State's 80-67 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Sunday.

De La Rosa made all three of his field-goal attempts and all eight of his free throws in scoring 14 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. BJ Duling added 14 points and three of Kent State's 11 steals while Jalen Avery had a career-high 10 assists to go with five points. The Golden Flashes (3-0) shot 52 percent.

Emmanuel Ejeh made 9 of 12 shots in scoring 21 points with eight rebounds to lead the Delta Devils (0-4). Tereke Eckwood added 17 points and Jordan Evans 10.

Ejeh scored four points and Davere Creighton three in a 7-0 run to give MVSU its only lead, 11-10. The Delta Devils trailed by seven at halftime but tied it with 17 minutes left in the game before the Kent State pulled away, using an 8-0 run to go up 65-51 and stay ahead by double figures.
