BALTIMORE (AP) Dimitrije Spasojevic had 16 points off the bench to carry Maryland-Baltimore County to an 89-57 win over Penn State York on Monday.
UMBC outscored the Nittany Lions 44-16 in the paint and 29-8 in bench points. UMBC shot 64% from the floor, including 70% in the first half, and held Penn State York to 38% overall.
L.J. Owens had 15 points for Maryland-Baltimore County (7-8). Daniel Akin added 13 points, and Brandon Horvath had 12 points. Spasojevic made 8 of 10 shots.
Johnathon Gillespie had 18 points for the Nittany Lions. Richard Grant added 14 points and Michael Coleman had 10 points. The game did not count against Penn State York's record.
Maryland-Baltimore County faces UMass Lowell at home on Saturday.
