NHL Game Preview - Edmonton at Nashville

The Nashville Predators are one of five teams in the NHL with at least 20 home wins.

On the other hand, the Predators have been shut out four times in front of their home fans.

Nashville will be looking to rebound from one of those home stinkers -- a 5-0 loss to the visiting Colorado Avalanche on Saturday -- when it hosts the Edmonton Oilers on Monday. The Predators have lost five of their past eight games overall.

"It's definitely a frustrating loss," captain Roman Josi said after Saturday's defeat. "At the end of the day when you lose a game, you're not satisfied. We have to keep playing hard and put this one behind us."

The Predators had won 12 of their past 13 meetings against the Avalanche prior to Saturday's loss.

The Oilers ended a 13-game winless stretch (0-11-2) vs. Nashville with a 5-3 victory in Music City on Oct. 27.

Leon Draisaitl scored two of his team-leading 36 goals in that contest. On Saturday, he set up Sam Gagner's second tally in as many games in a 2-1 victory against Anaheim. The win was the second straight following a dismal 1-8-3 run for Edmonton, which begins a season-long five-game road trip on Monday.

Draisaitl is riding a six-game point streak (four goals, four assists) and has 18 points (12 goals, six assists) in his last 13 contests.

Captain Connor McDavid, who leads the team in assists (53) and points (85), will sit out the second contest of a two-game suspension for his hit to the head of New York Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win.

"Connor is irreplaceable, obviously," Gagner said. "It's a cliche, but guys need to step up in that situation and I thought we had a lot of guys play really well (Saturday). ... That is a good sign for us and hopefully we can build off of it."

Mikko Koskinen has grown acclimated to the increased workload since fellow goaltender Cam Talbot was traded to Philadelphia. The 30-year-old Koskinen has yielded 15 goals in his last six outings, highlighted by his 33-save performance against the Ducks.

"I think it's getting better," Koskinen said after securing his 16th win of the season. "Slowly, but we have to keep on track and do the work to try and get better every day."

Reigning Vezina Trophy recipient Pekka Rinne matched the sum total of goals allowed during his three-game winning streak when he surrendered five on 16 shots against the Avalanche.

The 36-year-old Finn owns a sparkling 20-6-1 mark with four shutouts to go along with a 2.31 goals-against average and .918 save percentage vs. the Oilers, although countryman Juuse Saros has started both encounters against Edmonton this season.

Saros turned aside all 31 shots he faced in the Predators' 3-0 win over the Oilers on Oct. 20.

Viktor Arvidsson scored one of his team-leading 26 goals in that contest.

Ryan Johansen, who has been held off the score sheet in each of the past four games, set up three of his club-best 42 assists in the Oct. 27 meeting with Edmonton. Filip Forsberg recorded his sixth career hat trick in that game.
