2019 Fantasy Challenge

Quick Start Guide - How to Play:

  1. On your league home screen, click Team (top menu) and My Team Settings to change your Team name and change/upload your team logo.
  2. Click on the Pick My Drivers link (top menu). Click the green + circle beside any driver's name to add him to your roster (your roster appears top right of that screen). Continue until you have selected 4 drivers and your team roster is at or below the $100 salary cap. Also, be sure to enter your prediction for the Average Race Speed on that screen. This is used to break any ties. After selecting your drivers and entering your Average Race Speed prediction, click on the SUBMIT button that will slide up from the bottom right. Unless you click SUBMIT, your changes wil not be applied to your roster.
  3. You can always change your drivers out prior to the deadline. Just click the red - circle next to a driver's name on your roster to drop him from your roster. Then add another driver to replace him. Just be sure to have 4 drivers on your roster at or under the salary cap before you click SUBMIT.
  4. Return to your league starting Thurday evening of race week and prior to the deadline for each race to submit your drivers for the upcoming race using the Adjust My Roster screen (link in top menu)(rosters do not carry over from race to race). You will find your team under your My Leagues menu on the site.
  5. Follow the racing action live by clicking on the Live Scoring link (top menu).
  6. To see how your team fared, click on the Standings link (top menu) sometime after the race, and click the Overall tab on the Standings screen to see what teams scored highest each week and have the most points accumulated for the season.
  7. After Race 1, or if you join the contest after Race 1, you will select your drivers using the Adjust My Roster link in the top menu.
  8. Prizes are awarded to highest scorers for each race among all contest participants and highest season-long scorers among all contest participants. For full rules and details, continue reading below.

Welcome to your Fantrax INDYCAR League! The purpose of this game is to put together a team of 4 INDYCAR drivers, and then manage your team throughout the season based on who you think will perform the best, all while keeping your starters at or below the $100 salary cap. You will compete against all other owners in the contest for weekly and season-long prizes. It's that simple! If at any time you have any questions that are not addressed in our rules or FAQ pages, please don't hesitate to contact us using our Support/Feedback Form (hamburger menu at the extreme top right of any screen) and you will be responded to promptly.

A maximum of four (4) entries per Fantrax username/account are permitted. You may be in only one (1) Public League as part of that four, meaning you can join one Public League and up to three (3) Private leagues, or zero (0) Public leagues and up to four Private Leagues. While you are eligible to win prizes whether your league is Public or Private, only your top-scoring team from among your entries will be eligible to win any Round (race) prize or season-long prize. You may not win multiple prizes for any race or any multiple season-long Grand prizes. Please note that Private leagues with only one (1) team entered will be deleted. See Restrictions in Official Game Rules below.

Upon entry, you will be placed in a league with others in the contest. There will be multiple leagues. Keep in mind the contest awards prizes to the Overall winners only, thus your league placement does not matter regarding prizes.

Once you have joined your league, you will be able to see the names of the other teams in it, but will not be able to view their rosters until after the deadline for the first race. You will compete against all participants in the contest prizes (see the Prizes section for more info). You can access your league home page at any time by clicking on MY LEAGUES near the top left of the screen and clicking on the league name.

Entry Fee

Entry into this contest is Free.

Forming Your Initial Team

You must form your initial team using the Pick My Drivers screen, to which you will see a link in the top menu once you have accessed your league. This screen allows you to add drivers from the player pool onto your team and remove drivers from your team. As you make these changes, you will see a running total of your team salary at the top right. After submitting your changes, you will be able to review all those changes before confirming them. This screen will be renamed Adjust My Roster after the contest begins. Anyone joining the contest after the Race 1 deadline will select their drivers using the Adjust My Roster screen (link in top menu). There is no limit to the number of times you can leave and go back to these screens, as long as you form and submit your full team before each race deadline.

NOTE: If you have multiple entries, you must set your Team for each individual entry. Rosters do not copy from one team to another. Rosters can be the same or different for each.

This is a Duplicate Player contest, meaning any driver can be owned by any number of teams. You will be shown on the Pick My Drivers/Adjust My Roster screen which positions you still need to fill on your team, as well as what your current team salary is. If you fail to form a legal team by the deadline (4 drivers under the Salary Cap), the four (4) lowest salary drivers who earn points for the Race/Round will be assigned by the system to your team.

Managing Your Team

Roster Setup

Your team must have exactly 4 Active drivers (also known as Starters) for each race. If you attempt a claim/drop  that would result in your team not meeting the roster requirements above, that transaction will be denied by the system. Please refer to the Claiming Drivers To Your Roster section for more info.
Salary Cap
All teams have a $100 salary cap throughout the entire contest, and at no time are you allowed to go over that cap. If you attempt a claim/drop  that would result in your team exceeding the salary cap, that transaction will be denied by the system. Please refer to the Claiming Drivers To Your Roster section for more info.

Driver Salaries
Driver salaries are set before registration opens, and are updated weekly after each race for the upcoming race. A driver may gain value (increased salary) or lose value (decreased salary) over the course of the season. Other drivers not listed for Race/Round 1 may be added for future races.

Lineup Periods & Deadlines

You have up until 5 minutes before the start of the race to set your lineup for that race. Once that deadline has passed, lineups will be locked. There will be a built-in lock time of up until Thursday evening prior to the upcoming race before you can go in and set your Drivers for the next race with the new set of salaries for those drivers.
  • For the official deadline for the upcoming race, see the message displayed at the top of your league home page.
  • Any race delays or postponements due to weather or any other reason will not extend the deadline for any race. The deadline may, however, be moved to an earlier time if any race has it's official start time moved up. You will be notified of the upcoming deadline for each race on your league homepage.
  • If a race is postponed until the next day or the day after that, the original deadline to set your lineup still applies.
  • The final scheduled race day of this contest is on Sunday, September 22, 2019. Should the final race (or any other race) be postponed or rescheduled for any reason, it will count for this contest as long as it is run no later than the Wednesday following the scheduled final race of the season.
Claiming Drivers To Your Roster
After the deadline and the lock time for any race has passed, use the Adjust My Roster screen to claim (add) drivers to your team. Clcik the green + circle beside the driver's name to place him on your roster for the upcoming race. Be sure to click SUBMIT after making your 4 driver claims, which slides up from bottom right of the screen.

Note: If you have multiple entries, you must set your Team for each individual entry for each race. Rosters do not copy from one team to another. Rosters can be the same or different for each.

Note for Detroit Races: After setting your roster for the first Detroit race, YOU MUST RETURN to set your roster for the second Detroit race. Your picks will not carry over to Race 2. Rosters will be locked for approximately 3 hours after the Saturday race begins. Once unlocked, you will have until the Sunday race deadline to enter your roster for the second Detroit race. Driver salaries will be the same for both races.

Your Fantasy team is comprised of real-life INDYCAR drivers, and the statistics that those drivers accumulate are based on their real-life performances throughout the course of this contest. The scoring system that is used in this contest can be viewed below. Points are awarded to each of your drivers in each race based on the following:
