LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) Eli Chuha scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds and New Mexico State rolled past UT Rio Grande Valley 107-81 in the regular season finale for both teams Saturday night.
The Aggies (25-5, 11-3) finish as the No. 2 seed into the Western Athletic Conference Tournament, which begins Thursday.
Ian Baker added 21 points and seven assists, Braxton Huggins had 16 points and Matt Taylor had 11 points and eight rebounds.
New Mexico State led through much of the first half and a Baker 3-pointer followed by a Taylor dunk gave the Aggies a comfortable 40-29 advantage with 5:52 to go. They led 51-44 at the break and by double figures through most of the second half.
Nick Dixon led the Vaqueros (10-21, 2-12) with 35 points. UT Rio Grande Valley closes on a nine-game skid and will enter the WAC Tournament as the No. 6 seed.
