Thu Mar 2, 2017 11:13 PM

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Sam Hunt scored 20 points, Eliel Gonzalez added 19 and North Carolina A&T got its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win of the season with a 68-63 upset of first-place North Carolina Central on Thursday night.

The Aggies (3-28, 1-15) trailed most of the game but stayed close, getting a layup from Davaris McGowens late in the second half to cut the deficit to four and spark an 11-0 run that put the Aggies on top 64-59 with just fewer than two minutes to play.

Del'vin Dickerson hit a 3-pointer at the other end but North Carolina A&T hung on, getting two more buckets from Gonzalez down the stretch to seal it.

NC Central (22-8, 13-3) made 6 of 30 shots, including 2 of 14 from 3-point range, in the second half.

Patrick Cole had 14 points, Pablo Rivas scored 11 and Dajuan Graf had nine points with 10 assists for the Eagles, who finished the regular season in first place despite the loss.
