Bryant, Childs spark 2nd half BYU rout of Pepperdine, 83-63
Thu Jan 11, 2018 11:29 PM

PROVO, Utah (AP) Elijah Bryant and Yoeli Childs combined to score 46 points and BYU bounced back from an upset loss at Pacific to keep Pepperdine winless in West Coast Conference play with an 83-63 win on Thursday night.

The Cougars led by just six at intermission, 40-34, but after Matthew Atewe's jumper to get the Waves within four, Bryant keyed a 15-2 run by knocking down three 3-pointers and adding two free throws.

Bryant, who matched his season high with 29 points against Pacific, finished with 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 5 of 8 from distance. In his last two games the junior is 11 of 20 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Childs, who finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds, blocked a shot, giving him 80 for his career and tying him with Corbin Kaufusi for 15th all-time at BYU (14-4, 3-2).

Colbey Ross and Atewe finished with 16 and 15 points, respectively, to lead Pepperdine (3-14, 0-5).
