Sun Dec 9, 2018 3:46 PM

PITTSBURGH (AP) Eric Williams, Jr. started a comeback midway through the second half with a 3-pointer as Duquesne stormed back from 15 points down and surged past Longwood 80-71 on Sunday afternoon.

Williams scored 22 points with 12 rebounds, Lamar Norman Jr. added 15 points and Tavian Dunn-Martin 11 - all in the second half -with six assists and Duquesne (6-2) remained a perfect 5-0 at the A.J. Palumbo Center.

Williams matched his season high on 6-of-11 shooting, with three 3-pointers and a 7-of-8 effort at the line. The sophomore had a double-double for the third time this season. Norman, a freshman, scored his career best.

JaShaun Smith led the Lancers (7-4) with 20 points and Shabooty Phillips scored 18 with seven assists. The two scored 25 in the first half when Longwood shot 61 percent, never trailed and led 47-32 at the break.

The second half belonged to the Dukes who scored 15 points off 14 turnovers with five steals in the final period. Williams and Norman had buckets to cut the gap to 10. Sincere Carry hit two free throws and an Amari Kelly jump hook cut the deficit to six. A Williams steal and pass to Kelly for a one-handed dunk cut it to three, and Dunn-Martin free throws capped a 16-0 run with Duquesne leading for the first time with five minutes left.
