Wed Feb 5, 2020 10:27 PM

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Antonio Rizzuto and Trey Hutcheson each scored 17 points and combined to make nine 3-pointers as Albany began the second half of America East Conference play by handing Binghamton a 62-49 defeat Wednesday night.

Rizzuto came off the bench to hit five 3-pointers and Hutcheson cannned four more as the Great Danes (13-11, 6-3) were 11-for-32 shooting from distance. Cameron Healy's streak of hitting a 3-pointer reached 56 straight games, but the sophomore from Australia finished 1-for-4 from behind the arc and played just eight minutes.

According to a school official, Healy suffered a flareup of a minor hip/lower back injury.

Albany built a 33-21 lead at halftime, making nine 3-pointers (out of 11 field goals) in the opening 20 minutes.

George Tinsley led the Bearcats (8-14, 2-7) with with 13 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots. Pierre Sarr added 12 points, nine boards and four steals. Binghamton played the Great Danes pretty evenly in the second half but couldn't get closer than seven.

Sam Sessoms, the Bearcats' leading scorer (18 ppg) entering the contest at 18 points per game, nine points on 2-of-11 shooting. Sessoms and Healy finished 1-2 in America East Rookie of the Year voting last season.

Albany matches up against Hartford on the road next Wednesday. Binghamton plays Maine at home on Saturday.
